DESCRIPTION:
This course focuses on the
skills required to speak and comprehend fluent American English in an academic
setting. Students will have opportunity
to develop listening comprehension and note-taking strategies, and will be
expected to participate in class discussions as well as to hold conversations
with native English speakers.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
• Gain skill in listening to and in comprehending spoken English
• Gain confidence in speaking English
• Understand how to organize lecture notes
• Be prepared for participation in the advanced ESL class
COURSE FORMAT:
Students
will take notes while listening to lectures, participate in group
communication, and practice pronunciation.
