The evening's conversation focused on Muller's recent book, The Unaccommodated Calvin: Studies in the Foundation of a Theological Tradition (Oxford University Press, 2000). In this book, Muller attempts to offer a picture of Calvin's intention and method as he worked on his theology in the intellectual context of sixteenth-century Geneva. Muller, a former Fuller faculty member, is the P. J. Zondervan Professor for Doctoral Studies in Historical Theology at Calvin Theological Seminary in Michigan. As a visiting professor this summer at Fuller, Muller is teaching about medieval and Reformation theology. Bradley is the Geoffrey W. Bromiley Professor of Church History in Fuller's School of Theology. This discussion between church historians was the last of four summer seminars featuring visiting faculty from Fuller. The seminars were sponsored by the Office of Academic Programs in the School of Theology. Fuller Theological Seminary is a multidenominational seminary providing graduate-level education and professional development through its schools of theology, psychology, and world mission. |
