Pam Wilson Completes Her M.A. While Managing Nine Countries
for Operation Mobilization
Pam Wilson graduated from Fuller Seminary with an M.A. in intercultural studies
on June 14, specializing in the areas of Islamic studies and leadership. Her
training will serve her well when this native of Schaumburg, Ill., returns to
Turkey with her husband, Dave, where she has worked for the past 20 years with
Operation Mobilization. Wilson currently oversees Operation Mobilization’s
personnel and training in the organization’s Western and Central Asian
countries, and also has her hand in relief and development efforts.
Wilson faced many challenges while she studied at Fuller. She first enrolled in
1993, then continued to work full-time for her organization in Turkey as she
pressed on to earn her M.A.
“It's taken me exactly 10 years to finish what I started in 1993! Even when I've
been on campus, I have not taken a leave of absence from my ministry and have
spent hours on E-mail dealing with issues that arise in the nine countries in my
area. I have deeply appreciated the flexibility of the School of World Mission
that has allowed me to remain on the mission field while completing the bulk of
my program,” Wilson says. “Then, while on campus, the diversity and
multicultural aspect of Fuller helped me to feel at home. As a charismatic and
as a woman in leadership, I felt my options for seminary training were very
limited – Fuller really stood out.”
Operation Mobilization works in more than 80 countries, motivating and equipping
people to share God’s love with people all over the world. Operation
Mobilization seeks to help plant and strengthen churches, especially in areas of
the world where Christ is least known.
