Graduate Pam Trice Feels Called to be a “Bridge”
Between Church and Psychology

Pamela Trice enrolled in Fuller Seminary’s psychology program in 1997 and graduated with her Psy.D. in clinical psychology on June 14.

Trice, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, came to Fuller because she recognized it as the flagship for integrating psychology and theology. “At Fuller, the freedom to integrate psychology and theology as God gave guidance really stood out for me,” she says. “There is no formula for this process, one must bring to the table one’s own relationship with God and one’s belief that he is invested in the healing of persons.”

Trice is now planning to accept a position as visiting assistant professor of psychology at Wheaton College’s graduate school. “I feel called to be a bridge between the church and psychology, and I look forward to serving the Christian community,” she says. “The church, at times, is still shy of psychology. Yet I desire to see Christians take hold of the abundant life that Jesus Christ has purchased for them through his sacrificial death and resurrection. This abundant life is not only spiritual, but encompasses our emotional, social, and physical aspects as well.”
