Grace Wabuke Remembers Ugandan Terror, Starts New Ministry in U.S.

Grace Wabuke was born in Kampala, Uganda, and escaped the terror of dictator Idi Amin in 1976, at the age 18 months old, when her parents fled the country. The family immigrated to Minnesota, then later to Arcadia, California.

Wabuke received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and then enrolled at Fuller Seminary, where she expects to graduate with an M.A. in intercultural studies before the end of the year.

While studying at Fuller, Wabuke most valued the chance to learn from the ministry experiences of professors and her fellow classmates. “Sitting next to pastors from the underground church in Burma and hearing about the persecution they endured really impacted me,” Wabuke recalls.

Following graduation, Wabuke will start working full-time at her church, where she oversees cell groups, conferences, and the women’s ministries.
