Al Kasha, a Hollywood insider and person of faith, addressed the intersection of the media industry and religious belief in chapel and a lecture on April 18, at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. He spoke in a chapel setting at 10 a.m. in First Congregational Church on the corner of Los Robles and Walnut. During the lunch hour, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., he addressed "Do Christians Belong in Hollywood? As Long as There's Not Too Much Hollywood in Christians!" in Payton Hall, Room 101, on the Fuller campus. Al Kasha is a writer, producer, composer, and executive in film, television, music publishing, recording, and home video. He has won two Oscars, a People's Choice award, and been nominated for Grammys, Golden Globes, and Emmy awards. Al has taught at UCLA and been active as a lecturer. He has more than 30 major motion picture scores to his credit. Recording artists like Melissa Manchester, Elvis Presley, Sheena Easton, Julian Lennon, and Frank Sinatra are among the stars who have recorded his many songs. Fuller Theological Seminary is a multidenominational seminary with its main campus in Pasadena, providing graduate-level education and professional development through its schools of theology, psychology and world mission.
